Our
Story
A native of Bari, Italy, Rita Redavid has been passionate about food and coffee her entire life. Growing up on a farm in the Puglia region, she was raised to appreciate the importance of fresh vegetables and other ingredients in her cooking and baking.
Following her culinary training, Rita settled in British Columbia, Canada where she opened her first restaurant, Alfredo’s on Melville in the heart of downtown Vancouver. At the same time, she opened up several coffee shops serving the downtown clientele and visitors alike. She has also created and served many fine Italian dishes in other parts of British Columbia, most recently at Caffe Lago in the Leland Hotel in the Central Kootenies.
Along with her husband Nick, they opened Caffe Florian in 2014 to offer the best in 100% Kona coffee along with freshly baked pastries combining the best of Hawaiian traditions with an Italian flair and ambiance.
